GVETS logo Who We Are

Strengthening Community Through Soccer

Gwinnett Veterans Soccer Club (GVETS) was established in 2014 as a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization dedicated to strengthening community connection, wellness, and civic engagement. Organized exclusively for charitable, educational, and recreational purposes under Section 501(c)(3), we are proud to serve Gwinnett County, Georgia.

Our membership is composed of U.S. citizens and permanent residents of Cameroonian origin, alongside friends and partners from diverse backgrounds. GVETS brings together a unique network of US Army war veterans, physicians, pharmacists, educators, software engineers, and community leaders who share a commitment to service and brotherhood.

Beyond the pitch, GVETS serves as a space for mentorship and collective action. We maintain partnerships across the United States and Cameroon, strengthening cultural exchange and contributing resources to initiatives that support local needs and advance social well-being.

Message from the President

Dr. Neville Forlemu

Welcome to the Gwinnett Veterans Soccer Club.

For more than a decade, our club has been more than just a soccer team — we are a brotherhood built on service, discipline, resilience, and community. Founded in 2014, GVET was created to give veterans a place to compete, stay active, and reconnect through the beautiful game.

As veterans, we understand commitment. We understand teamwork. And we understand what it means to serve something greater than ourselves. At GVET, soccer is the vehicle — but community is the mission.

We strive to:

  • Promote physical and mental wellness
  • Foster lifelong friendships among veterans
  • Represent Gwinnett County with excellence
  • Mentor younger generations through leadership and example

Whether competing nationally, organizing local events, or supporting one another off the field, we carry the same values that shaped us in uniform. Thank you for visiting — we invite you to join us.

With respect and pride,
Dr. Neville Forlemu
President, Gwinnett Veterans Soccer Club
